a. | Miscellaneous Code Amendments Public Hearing, File No. CAM24-00348, CAM22-00845 Purpose: Hold a public hearing to receive public testimony on the proposed draft miscellaneous Kirkland Zoning Code (KZC) Amendments, which include the Alavi Community-Initiated Amendment Request. Action: At the conclusion of the public hearing, the Planning Commission (PC) should deliberate and make a recommendation to City Council (Council) on the proposed miscellaneous code amendments. Council is anticipated to consider and act on the recommendation of the PC on September 3, 2024. a. | 2044 Comprehensive Plan - Housing Element Briefing #3, File No. CAM22-00023 Purpose: Receive a third briefing and hold a study session to discuss draft revisions to the Housing Element (see Attachment 1) and draft Housing Inventory and Analysis (see Attachment 2). Provide staff with direction to continue preparing the draft 2044 Comprehensive Plan Housing Element. The PC should focus on the below questions for discussion while reviewing the memorandum and attachments:

While the Planning Commission (PC) does not have a formal role in the process for City Council (Council) to adopt a Development Plan (formerly referred to as a Master Plan), staff intends to keep the PC informed throughout the process and will include PC feedback in future briefings to Council on the project.
